“eccentric pop that sits in your ear for days like a blob of loveable wax”
Available to stream (but not forever, and no downloads). As played by Rob da Bank.
GOLAU GLAU – TINY SATELLITES
Sorry for the long post title there, but that’s how Rob da Bank described us on BBC Radio 1 earlier this morning when he played our new tune ‘Tiny Satellites’ and it really quite tickled us. Especially trying to decide which members of those bands we most resembled in what eras. If you enjoyed the GG spin, do let him know…
It’s not on the tracklisting (yet) and it’s no longer on the iPlayer, but we are reliably informed by our good friend Arthit Promprasit (@noisysonny on Twitter) that ‘Restraint’ was played by Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1 on 26/08/10.
Thanks Huw! Play it again, we’ll catch it this time…
We’ve been kind of busy, real life stuff and the acquisition of a Bontempi chord organ, so we haven’t had time to tell you yet that Huw Stephens played ‘Neuro’ on his late BBC Radio 1 show on Wednesday night/Thursday morning. It was a particularly good show, with tunes from Washed Out, Villagers, Pulled Apart By Horses, jj and Yuck among the highlights.
Don’t worry if you missed it, you can check it on Listen Again until the next show airs: Listen Again.
More news coming soon, we’re back working on new tunes and it’s all good.
Fishfinger-lover (no lie, no filth) Huw Stephens just played the Blue Daisy Snow Angel Remix of our tune ‘A Better Drinker’. You can stream it if you look at the post below this one. Form an orderly queue if you want to know when it’s going to be released properly, but bring biscuits and a sleeping bag and some of those fleecy pyjamas with feet, because we don’t know either. We don’t have a label, or cash. 12″ vinyl, please.

Our remix of ‘Hunger’ by Frankie & The Heartstrings was played on BBC Radio 1 tonight with hilarious pre-amble by Huw Stephens. According to the website: “Huw shakes up a brilliant Frankie & The Heartstrings remix from Golau Glau in the lab”.
Listen to it for a limited time only below via SoundCloud. No, don’t ask us for dodgy downloads.
FRANKIE & THE HEARTSTRINGS – ‘HUNGER’ (GOLAU GLAU REMIX):
Two big news bits before you all disappear off into the snow and eggnog:
Click on the pic below to read Mr Beatnick‘s interview with us in Shook magazine – also buy the actual magazine, because it is full of good things from Jazzie B to James Blake and things not beginning with J such as Moondog.
…A week today is Christmas Day and our fuzzy ginger ffrind Huw Stephens is playing us as part of his special festive show on BBC Radio 1. It’s on at 4 in the morning, but will be on iPlayer for all those not up with their stockings at that time. He’s also playing the likes of Banjo Or Freakout, HUNKS, Slow Club, Sufjan Stevens…
…Crying tears of Joy of course. Lovely Huw Stephens played ‘Foolstide’ on his 9pm show tonight. This is the iPlayer link, which will be live for a week, and here’s the tracklisting:
We’re very happy to be sitting alongside brilliant folk like Paul White, Memory Tapes, Wetdog and Munch Munch.
Also, in our flurry of excitement earlier, we totally forgot to post who was behind the artwork for ‘Foolstide’:
The original illustration was drawn by Mr Steven Horry the Second – whose sketches we saw recently and loved - and the graphic design is by us, the Golau Glau collective. Look out for more collaborations with Mr Steven Horry the Second in future, as we’re rather fond of the way he interpreted the idea of showing how Father Christmas was used as a weapon in the war between Puritanism and Yuletide festivities.
Listen again to our little present for Huw Stephens on BBC Radio 1, made when we got a bit stuck on our new (epic, you won’t hear it for a while) tune:
