The Silver Satchel – First Folio

This is the First Folio taken from The Silver Satchel, Golau Glau‘s radio show on Space Invader Radio. The Silver Satchel broadcasts on the fourth Wednesday of every month, from 6-8pm UK time.

Unbuckle the leather satchel, silvery and mysterious and crammed with books and papers. Carefully slide out the thick manila folder at the top of the bag, bound with overstretched red elastic bands. Within is contained the first folio of curios for broadcast. Blow off the dust and breathe in the magic…

Hungry For Hunger

The new Frankie & The Heartstrings single, ‘Hunger’, is out this week and their album of the same name comes out on Monday (21st) on Wichita.

We remixed ‘Hunger’-the-song a while back, when the lads were still unsigned, and Huw Stephens played it on BBC Radio 1 and all that. Now the Frankies are rightfully getting huge, the plays of our remix have gone through the roof. You can download it for free here.

Festival News

Hello,

Obviously we are not playing any actual festivals because we do not play live and nobody has yet volunteered to build massive speakers and stripey hologram animations or 3D spectaculars with fireworks and flag dancers and glitter cannons based on our music.

However, our “mindblowing” Frankie & The Heartstrings remix made it on to side A of The Fugitive Motel’s Latitude mixtape:

Also the ‘Held’ video is being shown as part of the art exhibition Left In Vision at Marxism 2010 in London. The public launch is on Friday 2nd July at 5.30pm. Then throughout Marxism in rooms 2B and 2C in ULU. So if you have a ticket, do drop in and see our film on the big screen.

Golau Glau got a mention on Channel 4 last night as part of the Topman CTRL show – the presenter, Rick Edwards, mentioned our remix of ‘Hunger’ after Frankie & The Heartstrings played their original version live.

Here is our brief moment of glory (about 6 mins and 38 seconds in, link will work until 18th June):

Hello TV people, we do not perform live or do interviews in person, but we have some interesting ideas for GGTV….

PS We record many of our own bird noises, you know…

Strung Out

Our remix of ‘Hunger’ by Frankie & The Heartstrings was played on BBC Radio 1 tonight with hilarious pre-amble by Huw Stephens. According to the website: “Huw shakes up a brilliant Frankie & The Heartstrings remix from Golau Glau in the lab”.
